Where Freedom Comes to Die

What happened to America? The lights are on, but the shadows whisper secrets of a lonely dawn. Once we stood for something, now the echoes moan. In the land of the brave, it feels like we're alone. Oh, Neil said to keep on rockin’ in the free world, but the music’s growing fainter, like a love that’s been unfurled, is there hope in the silence, or has the truth run dry? Is this where freedom comes to die in the land of the living?
There’s a man in the tower, tearing down the walls, with a smile that’s deceiving as democracy falls, promises are broken, while the people just divide, chasing dreams that fade away, like shadows in the night. Oh, Neil said to keep on rockin’ in the free world, but the music’s growing fainter, like a love that’s been unfurled, is there hope in the silence, or has the truth run dry? Is this where freedom comes to die in the land of the living? We’re lost in our screens, with our voices unheard, as the heart of a nation beats silent, disturbed, but I keep on believing, there’s a flicker of light in the souls of the dreamers who are ready to fight. So, I’m strumming my guitar, like a prayer on the breeze, for the ones who’ve forgotten how to stand up with ease, let the songs of the past remind us of who we are, in the darkness, we’re searching for a guiding star. Oh, Neil said to keep on rockin’ in the free world, but the music’s growing fainter, like a love that’s been unfurled, is there hope in the silence, or has the truth run dry? Is this where freedom comes to die in the land of the living? So, let’s gather the dreamers, and ignite the flame,
for the spirit of America can still rise again, with our hearts unbroken, we’ll reclaim the sky, and in the land of the living, we won't let freedom die.
