The 250-Year Slow Burn

Verse 1: Round and round goes the game, everybody is to blame, but nobody wants to claim the shame.

Chorus: So, here we go, burning everything down; we refuse to see it’s been on a slow burn for 250 years.

Verse 2: My side, your side, left, right, somewhere straight down the middle, shave a little on top, take from the bottom while everybody’s lookin’ over there.

Chorus: So, here we go, burning everything down; we refuse to see it’s been on a slow burn for 250 years.

Verse 3: Pin it on the man on the hill, but the water has been slowly eroding the dam from day one; every bill, every amendment, just a band-aid on a large, festering wound we call democracy. Open your eyes and see all that DJT has done is exploit the crumbling structure; now you’re lying face down, crying, feeling like a zero, wondering if it will ever be corrected.

Chorus: So, here we go, burning everything down; we refuse to see it’s been on a slow burn for 250 years.

Outro: Pin it on the hill, pin it on the crown...It was always meant to burn. 250 years of a slow-burn lie, Band-Aid wounds while the foundations die. Lying face down, calling for a savior’s hand... Just a zero standing in the ashes of the land.

Peace, love, and Rock and Roll.
