Got no guitar, and my star has fallen. I gambled with the wind, and it looks like I lost, and the cost is sweet-bitter chocolate now I’m outta money, outta hope speeding my way to a total catastrophe, the way I lived my life was my living and it looks like I’m outta time.
Speeding down the fast lane, rolling up town after town you know I’ve been around, I got my reputation earned now it’s my time to go up in flames and burn up the rest of my wood, and it feels like I’m dragging a heavy line, I’m traveling down that lonesome road to my final destination and I’m outta money, outta hope speeding my way to a total catastrophe, the way I lived my life was my living and it looks like I’m outta time.
The way I lived my life for a song may make no sense to you, yeah living for a song may not be your cup of tea but honey it was all me so don’t get these tears wrong I rolled the dice and came up on the losing end and now I’ve gotta say goodbye because I’m outta money, outta hope speeding my way to a total catastrophe, the way I lived my life was my living and it looks like I’m outta time.
