Living life with a gun in my hand, running from the night, trying to make my stand, Death’s posse hot on my heels, can't you see? But I won’t back down, it’s just the way I’m free. I’m running from the night, running from the light, with Death’s posse hot on my heels, pouring out my heart, living wild and free, this hillbilly blood has got no brakes. Yeah, I’ll keep on running, till the very end, wearing chaos like a crown, I’m a rebel, my friend. On the highway, the skies above know, the cost I had to pay, the pain I chose to sow. My hands are stained with every breath I’ve taken, if it weren’t for these pills, I’d be wide awake and shaken. Worn-down boots and a heart full of scars, a little girl gave her soul to the stars. Now I’m older, but I’m still the same, just a wild heart playing this reckless game. When you choose to love the road and make life your own, I’ll take it all, I won’t back down, I’ve made my throne.
