This slow death is driving me insane, in my younger days I lived hard and fast in a haze, and you wonder why I don’t believe in anything above except the sky, why survive paying my dues only to have my head heavy and my feet slipping on ice, hey darling if you hear this it means I’m probably dead with no fuss or commotion, hey darling I tried to the point of breaking to keep my promise but this cold water feels like a million knives sticking me to my bones and I can’t swim anymore, hey darling don’t shed a tear for me I lived and loved with every breath.
If this life I lived was somebody else's will besides mine whoever they are can burn, and I will happily fry for not believing in them because I tried with every breath I ever breathed and I’d never change a single second because I paid my dues and hey darling when I’m finally laid to rest know this, I tried to the point of breaking to keep my promise but this cold water feels like a million knives sticking me to my bones and I can’t swim anymore, hey darling don’t shed a tear for me I lived and loved with every breath.
Now I’ve got to wonder what is all for, some get high, some die slow, some pay more, some pay less and this is a fine mess I’m in, I played my songs, wasn’t for the money or the glory but this is a kick in the teeth so don’t have any preacher standing over my grave because his words don’t save a soul and I know their heaven aint real, hey darling I tried to the point of breaking to keep my promise but this cold water feels like a million knives sticking me to my bones and I can’t swim anymore, hey darling don’t shed a tear for me I lived and loved with every breath.
